This Privacy Policy explains how Invest Logistic Sarl (“we”, “us”, “Wekonex”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you use eSchool by Wekonex, including the website https://academy.wekonex.net, school web portals, and the student/parent and teacher/staff mobile applications.

eSchool is a school management platform for institutions in Cameroon and elsewhere. Schools that subscribe to the service remain responsible for the student, parent, and staff data they enter. We process that data to provide the platform.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use eSchool, we may collect:

  • School and account data: school name, address, tagline, administrator name, email, mobile number, login credentials, and subscription details.
  • Student data: identity information (name, date of birth, gender, student ID, photo), class/section, attendance, assignments, exams and results, timetable, fees, transport, and related academic records.
  • Parent/guardian data: name, email, phone number, and linked students.
  • Teacher and staff data: name, role, email, phone, timetable, leave, and attendance.
  • Communications: announcements, chat messages, support requests, and contact-form messages.
  • Payment data: transaction references, amount, status, and the payment method used (for example Mobile Money via PayIn or other configured gateways). We do not store full card or Mobile Money PIN details; those are handled by the payment provider.
  • Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, app version, device identifiers, and Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens used to send push notifications.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies for login and, where enabled, reCAPTCHA to protect forms from abuse.

3. How we use data

  • Create and manage school, staff, student, and parent accounts
  • Operate academic features (attendance, timetable, exams, assignments, report cards, fees, transport, chat, and similar modules)
  • Process subscription and school-fee payments
  • Send service emails, SMS/WhatsApp alerts (where configured), and push notifications
  • Provide customer support and onboarding
  • Secure the platform, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations
  • Improve reliability and user experience

We do not sell personal data.

4. Children’s data

eSchool is used by schools and may contain personal data of minors. That data is collected by the school (or by a parent/guardian through the student/parent app) for educational and administrative purposes. We do not knowingly use children’s data for advertising. Parents or guardians who want a student’s data corrected or deleted should first contact the school; the school or Wekonex can then apply the request on the platform.

5. Who we share data with

We may share data only as needed to run the service:

  • The school that created the account (administrators, teachers, and staff with the relevant permissions)
  • Payment providers (for example PayIn / Mobile Money and other gateways enabled by the school or by us)
  • Infrastructure and messaging providers (hosting, email, SMS/WhatsApp, and Firebase for push notifications)
  • Authorities when required by Cameroonian law or a valid legal request

Schools must only give access to people who need it for their role.

6. Storage and security

Data is stored on our servers and those of our hosting providers. We use access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), authentication, and operational measures to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure.

7. Retention

We keep personal data for as long as the school account is active and as needed to provide the service, handle payments, resolve disputes, and comply with the law. When a school subscription ends, data may be retained for a limited period for backup and legal purposes, then deleted or anonymised, unless the school or the law requires a longer retention.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including Cameroon’s personal data protection rules), you may request to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account or specific data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

Students and parents should normally send requests to their school first. School administrators and other users can contact us at the address below.

9. Mobile applications

The student/parent and teacher/staff apps connect to the school’s eSchool instance. They may request notification permission to deliver alerts. Optional device permissions (camera, storage, etc.) are used only for features such as profile photos, assignment uploads, or similar in-app actions. You can disable notifications in your device settings.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect the site. Third-party tools such as reCAPTCHA or Firebase may set their own cookies or identifiers. You can control cookies in your browser; disabling some cookies may affect login and form submission.

11. International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside Cameroon. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to keep the data protected.

12. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of eSchool after an update means you accept the revised policy.
